Synopsis of Class
|
Most people who fly fish for trout, at one time or another,
fish dry flies. Weather you are fishing during a hatch
or trying to entice a selective trout there is something
magical about casting a small dry fly to a trout and
watching him rise to your fly. With hundreds of dry
fly patterns in use these days we sometimes forget that some
of the simplest patterns can be the most productive.
The Catskill flies were originally made with simplicity in
mind. Slim bodies, simple wings and light flies are
trademarks of the Catskill flies. If you are
just starting to fish for trout with dry flies or looking
for proven patterns, these flies are the ones you need on
every dry fly outing.
This Saturday we will tying three (possible four if time
allows) proven Catskill dry flies that everyone should have.
Other than being small (we will be using a number 12 hook
for the sake of learning) they are simple flies to tie.
Stop by this Saturday and learn to tie these patterns.
We guarantee you will have lots of fun tying up a good
supply of these this winter for the 2009m fishing season.
