Synopsis of Class
|
For those who brave the cold and sometimes harsh condition
of trout fishing in the winter months the pay off can be
big. Trout love cold water and usually stay active and
feeding throughout the winter months. If you are luck
enough to have a tail water which hold the trout you fish
for they are even more active because the water usually is
warmer.
Slow and deep is the tactic called for
while winter trout fishing. Usually small and nymphs
are the desired flies. However, you might get some
warm weather and even be able to fish dry flies.
For this tying class we will tie three productive flies for
fishing the cold months of the year. Midges are also
another standard trout pattern during the winter time.
Look for FlyMasters to have
another Midge fly tying class later this winter. In
the mean time, you can check out the flies we tied up in our
last Midge class.
The flies we will tie are,
