Synopsis of Class
|
One of the most anticipated hatches of the year in Michigan is the
Summer Hex Hatch. Hexagenia Limbata hatches around the
end of June and first week of July. They are the
biggest mayflies to hatch and trout love them.
Fortunately, because they are so big, the patterns you tie
for them are big and easier to tie. If you have the
opportunity to catch the summer hex hatch you will want
these flies with you.
Incidentally, they are also great summer smallmouth bass
flies!
For this class you will tie the following flies.

Hex Spent Spinner |

Extended Foam Body Hex

Hex Glo Parachute Dun |
