Quetico Provincial Park, Ontario |
At FlyMasters we have customers from all over the world that
travel and fish all over the world. This year alone we
have great friends that have fishes in Scotland, England,
Germany, Russia, Hawaii, South Africa, Argentina, Chili,
Venezuela, Mexico, Alaska, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec,
New Zealand, The Seychelles, Spain, France, and Ireland (to name
a few). We hear fantastic stories from these people about
the fish they catch and sometimes we even get to see a photo to
back them up (no fish stories here you know).
At
FlyMasters we are always thinking of great ways to have fun with
our customers and keep our relationship strong. In recent
conversations around the shop on on the water a suggestion was
made to have a contest for our customers to add a little more
proof as to just where they have been fishing. Thus our
contest of "Where has you FlyMasters hat been" was born. |
|
| |
The idea is real simple. When you go fishing make
certain to take you FlyMasters hat with you and your camera.
While out fishing take a picture of your FlyMasters hat
somewhere interesting and (hopefully) identifiable. Submit
the photo to FlyMasters and you are entered in our contest.
You photos can be in a creek in your own backyard or thousands
of miles away.
The contest runs from July 1st all the way until the end of
August (August 31, 2010). For the time being, simply
your photos to us at FlyMasters. We will have a submission
form setup on our site very soon to make even easier. At
the end of the contest period the winner and runner -up will be
chosen. They will be chosen on both location (say your hat
is in Egypt, on the Pyramids) and on artistic quality.
A quality photo of you and your hat (or just your hat) on the
Latort may beat out a bad photo on the Themes. The
hat has to be recognizable and it would be helpful if some
identifying feature were in the photo to back up you claim of
where the photo was taken.

Easter Island (yeah really) |
First prize is a full days guides trip on the
Pere Marquette river in October for Salmon and/or Steelhead with
Steve
Martinez of
Indigo Guide Service. Steve has been casting on
the waters of the Pere Marquette for over thirty years. October
is great time for King Salmon and Steelhead.
Second Prize
is a
Beginning Fly Tying Level I class at FlyMasters and the
tools and materials to get you started tying your own flies. By
far our most popular class in the shop, learning to tie your own
flies takes the art of fly fishing to a whole new level.
One you can enjoy for years.
Start submitting your photos
(with an explanation about the photo) and we will start posting
photos on our site. Check back here throughout the summer
as this contest unfolds. |
