Simms Freestone Streamtread
Simms Freestone StreamtreadIt seems more and more people are getting concerned about transporting unwanted critters from one body of water to another via waders and boots.  Many states have special laws concerning the use of felt soled boots in various waters.  New Zealand actually went "felt free" as of 2008.  For 2009 Simms is leading the way for the move from felt soles to Vibrim soles in their new Streamtread line of wading boots.  The Freestone Streamtread is a nice low cost wading boot that uses a  Vibrim sole instead of felt.  All reports from field testers indicate that the Vibrim sole actually out performs standard felt soles.  With less area for critters to hide on the sole the Streamtread sole will help slowdown the spread of invasive species into your favorite waters.  stop by the shop to check out these new boots or order yourself a pair online.

Tilley Hats
Tilley HatThe Tilley Hat fits more comfortably than other hats. It’s designed to be worn low on your head and slightly loose. It should be held on by gravity, not by painful pressure on your forehead! For the proper fit, you should be able to easily insert two fingers, flat, between the middle of your forehead and the front of the Hat. The Hat should be loose enough that you can rotate it to the left and right, and lift it up and down, without friction on your forehead. When it’s windy, use the cord! Purchase this product online
