FlyMasters Fishing School

 

This is a school for people who want to start fishing with conventional tackle. You ant to get started but have questions about tackle, techniques, and where to fish. There are three parts to the school.

Class #1 Meet at FlyMasters and have a discussion about tackle and learn a couple of knots. If you have no equipment we can assist you with that purchase. If you have equipment we can make sure it is in good working order. We will help you purchase a fishing license online.

Class #2 Meet at the lake which us five minutes from FlyMasters.  Learn to rig your rod with a lure and how to cast and retrieve. Learn to hook a fish, fight a fish, land and release the fish. 

Class #3 After practicing the skills learned in the second class, meet again at the lake and recap any skills that need further attention. 

 The classes will last approximately one hour. Classes will be scheduled by appointment with Derrick Filkins. Derrick can be reached at FlyMasters, 317-570-9811. More than one person can attend the class when participating with a friend, family member etc. When fishing with another person those classes will last more than an hour.  The fee for the class is $60 and is due at the first class.
