Tenkara rods are a fixed line style of angling. Depending on the length of rod, a floating or sinking line is attached to the end followed by a length of tippet and then a wet or dry fly. You can catch small brook trout in the Smokey Mountains, Smallmouth Bass in the Midwest, Salmon in Alaska, or Saltwater fish. Each species needed a different length and action in a tenkara rod.
