Beaver Island Carp Trip Information (02-03-2010)
Hard to believe it but summer will be here soon. One of our
best trips for 2010 is to
Beaver Island in
Lake Michigan for Great Lakes Carp. The common carp
has a great deal to offer the fly rod enthusiast.
Targeted sight fishing, spooky behavior and blistering runs
make for some of the most fun you will ever have freshwater

Gary Krebs Popper Jig Class This Saturday! (02-02-2010)
Make plans to be at FlyMasters on Saturday for a
special 4 hour tying class where Gary Krebs.
Gary will show us how to use his popper head jigs for making
some amazing topwater flies for bass, pike and snook. Most
people who fly fish love the thrill of catching a fish on
the surface. Face it, casting topwater flies to the bank
and watching those explosive strikes is just plan fun!
However, making poppers can be tedious and time consuming.
Even if you use foam for your heads it can be hard to
consistently get good results. Not any more!
FlyMasters at The Boat,
Sport and Travel Show in February! (02-02-2010)
We have been saying for the past few months that this is our
20th year of business and we are celebrating all year long.
We are hosting or are participating in all kinds of shows,
fairs, events and outings winter, spring, summer and fall. One of the
biggest for us will be the upcoming
Boat, Sport and Travel show in February.
FlyMasters will be a showcase in the entire new section
added to Tackle Town called "The Quiet Sport". We will
have special tiers, rod builders, guides, products and
information during the entire show. Look for more
information in the coming weeks.
More Dates for Mosquito
Lagoon!
(02-02-2010) We had a great time this past
weekend fishing with
Captain Todd
Fuller in mosquito Lagoon. Despite their recent
cold snap lots of sea trout and redfish were caught.
One person on the trip (name are being withheld for
their protection) even had a 100+ fish day!
Everyone had a great time and picture are soon to be
posted on our site. The great news is that we
have added new dates for a second trip. Mark
your calendar as out of town for March 18th - 21st

Fort Wayne Show in March (02-01-2010)
In keeping with our mission to spread the good word about
Fly Fishing in Indiana, FlyMasters will be attending the
Outdoor Sports, Lake and Cabin show in Fort Wayne March
12th - 14th. We will be giving
free fly fishing lessons the entire time we are there.

FlyMasters 2010 Magazine Now Online (02-01-2010)
Hopefully you have already been by the shop and picked up a
copy of our 2010 magazine. This magazine is packed
full of information (twice as big as last years - 64 pages)
regarding FlyMasters and the classes and services we offer
to the fly fishing community. It also has tons of
information on flies, fly lines, species to fish for and how
to fish all over the mid-west. If you have not seen it
yet you are in luck. We have the next best thing, we
now have an
online version
of the magazine for you to
peruse. You can follow the link to the online magazine
version or follow this link to a
high resolution PDF you can
download. The online magazine works like most printed
material. Keep in mind you can zoom in and move pages
around for a clearer picture. The PDF version is a
large file (fit for printing) so be patient while it
downloads. As always, we welcome feedback and input as
to what you think of the magazine and what you might want to

FlyMasters Turns
20 in 2010 (02-02-2010)FlyMasters
of Indianapolis will be turning twenty years old in 2010 and
what a fun twenty years it has been. In honor of this
milestone we will be hosting or be a part of a whole slew if
events, shows and activities throughout the year.
Some of you may have already been by for some of them but
don't dismay, there is plenty of fun on the horizon.
In this section of our web site you will find a listing of
the events we have planned and any last minute changes.
Always check here in case any specifics change and to see
what we have added. Then hop in the car and head to
the shop to celebrate twenty years.
February
6th -
Gary Krebs Popper fly class. This is a
great class for the intermediate to advanced
tier. Learn how to make effective poppers
fast and easy.
19th - 28th -
Indiana Boat
Sport and Travel Show. FlyMasters has a
prime location at this annual event to help
spread the fly fishing word.
March
6th - Jerry Darkes and Eumer
Tube Flies. Jerry will be teaching a class
and showing us all about the
Eumer Tube
products.
10th -
Barry and Cathy Beck at FlyMasters.
The Becks will be by the shop for a fly fishing
seminar as well as

Camera for a photography clinic.

2010 Dates for Our Fly Fishing School (01-25-2010)
We have had many people stop by FlyMasters in the last couple of months interested
in leaning how to fly fish. Even though it may seem a bit early, with snow on the ground, we have set some dates for the
first phase of our Fly Fishing School.
The first phase of our school is in the shop so we do not need to be concerned about the weather.
By the time most people can fit in the first meeting for phase II the weather starts to break
and sunny warm afternoons can be had at the pond. The following are the list of upcoming dates for Phase I.

Phase I of our school is from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on the given dates. You only need to attend ONE
Phase I meeting. You do not need to sign up ahead of time,
simply show up on the designated date at 7:00pm and you can get started. Please call us on the day of the
particular Phase I class you plan on attending, just in case there is a last minute cancellation. If you
do not have any equipment at this time, DO NOT purchase any. The instructor can provide
everything you need for the first couple of meeting. Once you have had a couple of meeting with the instructor
and some hands on time, you can then purchase your own equipment to practice (and fish) with and you will be
making a more informed purchase.
Mark your calendar and come on in this spring to learn how to fly fish. In the mean time, if you have any questions
